Maximalism, but make it exotic

"I hate minimalism, that's not my vibe! I wanna feel like a wizard, surrounded by the collections of his many adventures."

If you are familiar with tiktok, you must have stumble upon Hank Green's video, which started an actual trend. People using his sound to show their bold maximalist interiors and I live for it!

After many sad years of millennial grey and trending convent-like interior designs, we can finally express ourselves, without being called quirky, kitsch or cheugy.

While minimalist interior design aesthetics had its prime after 2008 recession (Kim K's mansion is a staple of that), after pandemic people stopped loving hard to maintain "clean aesthetic", when we were stuck at home 24/7. Minimalism is hard to live with.

New style on the rise: maximalism, on the other hand makes you feel at home. It embraces a more eclectic and vibrant aesthetic, featuring vibrant colors, patterns, and textures that create a fun and energetic atmosphere.

Less is more? How about less is bore and more is more!

Maximalist interiors master the art of More is More by featuring contrasting elements in comprehensive palettes. An accumulation of plants, paintings, collections, and souvenirs polish off the look while adding a layer of personality to the space. Maximalism also promotes a decolonized view of design by bringing back elements that were too "kitsch" for those previously in power.
